Why should you go for therapy?

The challenges we face in life are not exactly our choice but how we want to deal with them is. So, if you are reading this, I want to tell you that you do not have to do it alone. Choosing to get help through therapy is a brave and beneficial choice.

Over the past 30 years, I have been in the helping industry. From my journey as a medical doctor and Surgeon, and Psychotherapist, I have come to realise that each person’s journey is unique, and I customize my therapeutic approach to address the specific needs of my clients. By integrating evidence-based techniques with a strengths-based perspective.

I provide individual, couples and Family therapy using a variety of evidence-based methods, including Cognitive Behavioural, Solutions Focused, Trauma-Informed, and Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy. I’m experienced in working with clients from a diverse cultural and social background, with a particular strength in providing therapy for people from minority, Indigenous, and 2SLGBTQI+ communities.

I can help you navigate and grow from many of life’s struggles, including anxiety, stress, job issues, relationship troubles, and trauma. She believes that counselling is a very rewarding field that encourages positive changes and growth in an individual, helping them with healing and recovery.

I am a member in good standing with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario. I am also a practicing surgeon in the United Kingdom and Sri Lanka for thirty years and practicing as an International Medical Graduate in Canada. I have always had a passion for helping people in need.

Languages: I provide services in English, Tamil, and Sinhala.

More than her work:
