David Bruce, RP, CCTP-II, C-DBT, C-PD

David has been practicing psychotherapy with individuals and couples for more than thirty years. He currently manages Toronto’s largest free psychotherapy program for co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders, where he treats complex trauma and personality disorders such as Borderline Personality Disorder.

David uses an integrated approach customized for each client, employing psychodynamic, cognitive, dialectical, and somatic modalities, along with hypnosis and meditation. His interests range widely, from positive psychology through spiritually integrated psychotherapy to reality therapy.

David is a Registered Psychotherapist who regularly provides clinical supervision to RPs, RP(Qualifying), and psychotherapy students. He also serves as an appointed committee member working with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario.

David has earned a Bachelor of Arts (University of Toronto), Master of Divinity (University of Toronto), Doctor of Ministry (Fuller Theological Seminary, Pasadena, CA), Doctor of Philosophy (University of Toronto) and Master of Business Administration (Herriot Watt University, Edinburgh). He is also the author or co-author of seven books.

David has been married for thirty-five years and has three grown children.
